Introduction
Documents in Predictive Systems Lab are formatted through the use of Styles. A Style is a complete set of settings specifying Font, Color, Borders, Alignment, Type Format, Display Options, and Base Style.
You can define styles at the following four levels:
1. | Base Level Formatting |
2. | Column Level Formatting |
3. | Row Level Formatting |
4. | Cell Level Formatting |
Level formatting styles are used by Predictive Systems Lab to calculate the final format of a document region or cell, in order of precedence, from Base Level Formatting through Cell Level Formatting (see figure above).
Base Level Formatting
All Predictive Systems Lab documents are created with a default base level style. This style is responsible for the initial format settings of your Predictive Systems Lab documents and can be created or modified through the Base Styles command.
Column Level Formatting
You can define a distinct column style for each column in Predictive Systems Lab documents. Column level styles override base level styles.
Row Level Formatting
You can define a distinct row style for each row in Predictive Systems Lab documents. Row level styles override column and base level styles.
Cell Level Formatting
You can define a distinct cell style for each cell in Predictive Systems Lab documents. Cell level styles override all other formatting styles.
Row Header and Column Header Styles
In addition to the styles previously mentioned, Predictive Systems Lab also defines default Row and Column Header styles. These styles are responsible for formatting the Row Header and the Column Header of your Predictive Systems Lab documents. As with default base level formatting styles, row and column header styles can be modified using the Base Styles command.
