Global Least Squares Options dialog box

Use this dialog box to modify the settings for the currently selected global least squares method.

 

Least Squares Solution Type

Select one of the following options:

 

Static

Indicates that the solution of the least squares problem is drawn from a static region of the data.

 

Dynamic

Indicates that the solution of the least squares problem is drawn from all data preceding the current prediction point.

 

Solution Static Section

 

Data Set Size

Displays the worksheet extent of data that can be used to solve of the static least squares problem. Use this number as a guide for specifying the Start Position and the Section Size values.

 

End Position

Displays the end position of the static area after considering the Start Position and the Section Size values as references.

 

Start Position

Indicates the start position for the region to use for the solution of the static least squares problem. You can type a start position of your preference.

 

Section Size

Indicates the size of the region to use for the solution of the static least squares problem. You can type a size of your preference.

 

NoteThe Section Size value must be greater than or equal to the number of independent variables in the system.

Slider

Adjusts the visual representation of the selected region. The GlsOptionsDlgA icon indicates the start position, and the GlsOptionsDlgb icon indicates the end position of the selected region. You can adjust the Section Size value by sliding GlsOptionsDlgSlider or by pressing the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard.

Click this button to close the dialog box and save any changes you have made.

 

Cancel

Click this button to close the dialog box without saving any changes you have made.
