Cell and Column Types in Predictive Systems Lab

Several types of information may be entered in any one document cell in Predictive Systems Lab:

 

Text

Consists of alphanumeric characters that cannot be interpreted as any of the other listed types.

 

Numeric

Consists of a numeric value.

 

Date

Consists of a date.

 

Time

Consists of a time.

 

Datetime

Consists of a date and a time.

 

Formula

Consists of a formula expression.

In addition, a document cell can remain empty.

 

Document columns, on the other hand, get their type from cell contents. As an example, a document column with all cells consisting numeric values is typed Numeric, and so on. In this fashion, the following types can be formed for any one column:

 

Empty

All cells in this column are empty.

 

Text

All cells in this column contain text.

 

Numeric

All cells in this column contain numeric values.

 

Date

All cells in this column contain date values.

 

Time

All cells in this column contain time values.

 

Datetime

All cells in this column contain datetime values.

 

Formula

All cells in this column contain formula expressions.

 

Mixed

Not all cells in this column contain the same information type.

 

Finally, a column with empty cells in addition to its main type is classified as incomplete: Numeric-Incomplete, for example.
