Frequency Custom Specification page (Digital Filter Design wizard)

Top  Previous  Next

Use this page to specify the minimum detectable bandwidth of custom designed filters. By specifying a minimum transition bandwidth and a number of points for the indicated bandwidth, you can tailor filters to an acceptable level of design detail.

NoteThe final level of detail is dependent on the length of the filter.

Magnitude and Phase tabs

Use these tabs to graphically specify bandpass and bandstop regions for the filter you want to design. Use the Magnitude tab to specify pass, stop and transition frequency regions and the Phase tab to specify shifts at those frequencies. If you are unsure of manipulating phase values, set these values to zero for all frequencies.

Magnitude Flexible Graph

Use this graph to specify magnitude values in the frequency domain for the filter you want to design.

Refer to Using Flexible Graphs for additional information on this subject.

MiniPlotColorBtn Magnitude

Specifies the color with which magnitude values are plotted. Click this box to change the current color.

Phase Flexible Graph

Use this graph to interactively specify phase values in the frequency domain for your filter you want to design.

Refer to Using Flexible Graphs for additional information on this subject.

MiniPlotColorBtnRed Phase

Specifies the color with which phase values are plotted. Click this box to change the current color.

Reset

Resets the values of the currently active tab to default.

NoteOn reset, magnitude values are set to one and phase values are set to zero.
