Use this dialog box to scale data to an extent of your choice.
Input
Specifies the worksheet location of the input data for this operation.
Provides a reference to the extent of the data available in the currently active worksheet. Use this range as a guide for typing valid extents in the Input Range box.
Type in this box the range of cells containing the data you want to use as input for this command.
Refer to Specifying Input Arguments for additional information on this subject.
Series Context
Select this option to indicate that the data specified by the Input Range box is organized in columns.
Select this option to indicate that the data specified by the Input Range box is organized in rows.
Select this option to indicate that the data specified by the Input Range box is one series ordered across columns.
Select this option to indicate that the data specified by the Input Range box is one series ordered across rows.
Refer to Specifying Input Arguments for additional information on this subject.
Output
Specifies the worksheet location for placing the results of this operation.
Select this option to place the results of this operation in a new document workbook.
Select this option to place the results of this operation in a new worksheet.
Select this option to place the results of this operation starting at the worksheet location specified in the box to the right of this option.
Refer to Specifying Output Locations for additional information on this subject.
Scale From
Specifies the extent of the data to be considered for formulating the scale transform.
Select this option if you want the extent of the values in the Input Range box to be used for formulating the scale transform.
Select this option if you want the extent of the first N terms of each series to be the one used for formulating the scale transform for the entire series. If you select this option, you must type the number of terms in the box to the right of this option.
Scale To
Specifies the extent to which the series is to be scaled.
Select this option to specify the extent of scaling.
Type in this box the minimum value you want to scale the series to.
Type in this box the maximum value you want to scale the series to.
Select this option if you want Predictive Systems Lab to retrieve the minimum and maximum values for scaling from a range of cells in the currently active worksheet. If you select this option, you must type the indicated range in the box to the right of this option. The range may contain any number of series, but exactly two entries corresponding to the minimum and maximum values in any order.
Specifies that the values indicated by From Range is organized in rows as opposed to columns (the default).
![]() | If the number of series in this range is equal or larger than the number of series included in the Input Range box, each of the Input Range series is then scaled to the particular extent found in the corresponding From Range series. Otherwise, all series are scaled to the extent found in the first From Range series. |
![]() | If you selected the Series From option First Terms, the final minimum and maximum values of the scaled series may differ from the minimum and maximum values indicated for scaling after the operation is carried if there were values outside these bounds in the remaining of the original series terms which scale to a lower or higher value when the calculated function is applied. |
Closes the dialog box and carries out this operation.
